Dalvin Cook has been one of the league's top running backs over the last few years. Cook, who has played his whole career with the Minnesota Vikings, is now a free agent after being released by Minnesota in early June.

For the first time in his career, he will not be donning a purple and gold jersey next year, and he seems very interested in wearing a green and white jersey instead.

Cook's best season came back in 2020 when he tallied a career-high 1,557 rushing yards. He also picked up his career-high in rushing touchdowns with 16.

However, since 2020, it's safe to say that Cook has been on a bit of a decline, tallying 1,173 yards and eight rushing touchdowns in 17 games played last season. His efficiency numbers were also way down.

There appears to be mutual interest between Dalvin Cook and the NY Jets

ESPN's Diana Russini tweeted out a video of Mike Greenberg talking about how he wants Dalvin Cook alongside DeAndre Hopkins on the Jets. Cook replied to the above tweet calling Greenberg smart, implying that a deal with Gang Green is very much on the table for the 27-year-old running back.

The ball is now in the Jets' court. Will they sign Dalvin Cook? The better question is, do they need Dalvin Cook? With an already stacked running room, some may say it's not worth it.

However, with Breece Hall not expected to take a heavy workload at the beginning of the season, the Jets could use Cook to spell their top running back early in the year. Cook remains one of the more productive backs in football.

Sure, the Jets have Michael Carter and Zonovan Knight. However, neither of them was particularly impressive last season. Israel Abanikanda could see some snaps, but he's also just a rookie.

If the money is right, maybe a move to the Jets could be in the cards for Dalvin Cook.
