Since entering the NFL, Corey Davis has been a quality wide receiver. Davis made his NFL debut in the 2017 season for the Tennessee Titans and would end his rookie season with just 34 receptions for 375 yards and zero touchdowns. He appeared in only nine games as a hamstring injury would keep him sidelined for a good portion of the season.

Davis would have a bounce-back year in 2018, starting all 16 games and finishing with a career-high 65 receptions, 891 yards, and four touchdowns. His NY Jets' career has been a bit rocky, and now with the team signing Allen Lazard, they likely just found his replacement.

With the pending addition of Aaron Rodgers to the Jets roster, the Lazard/Rodgers connection is obvious. Lazard is also a big-bodied, red-zone threat, similar to Davis.

Lazard stands at 6-foot-5 and 227 pounds. While he's not a speedy guy, he is a physical presence on the field who can make contested catches with the leaping ability to extend vertically over defenders.

With a duo of Lazard and Garrett Wilson, the Jets' offense could be lethal with a decent quarterback at the helm. Not only is he a solid wide receiver, but Lazard is also a great run blocker, much like Davis. This could prove to be a big plus for the Jets, with Breece Hall returning from injury in 2023.

Lazard had the following to say about his decision to join the Jets this offseason.

"Me and my decision coming here was purely based off that and making sure that I'm doing what's best for my career. Obviously, [Aaron Rodgers] being here helps the entire organization to be able to take that next step, make a deep playoff run, and go win that Lombardi Trophy."

The Jets will rely on Lazard to fill Davis' shoes as their big-bodied WR2/WR3 who also doubles as an excellent run blocker. There are a lot of reasons to be excited about the Jets' offense in 2023, and Lazard is one of those reasons.
