Aaron Rodgers has made his decision. He wants to play for the NY Jets.

Rodgers made an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday and told a viewing audience of over half a million that his intentions are to play, specifically to play for the Jets.

Rodgers told McAfee that he was 90% certain about retiring before going on his darkness retreat. However, "something changed" during his retreat. He also detailed his issues with the Packers organization, including taking shots at them for holding up trade talks.

According to Rodgers, he made his decision last Friday and a deal has been in place since then. This contradicts prior reports that suggested he was the one causing the delay.

Instead, per Rodgers, the delay is being caused by the Packers trying to get as much compensation in return. He didn't sound too happy about it either.

Regardless, Rodgers is coming to the Jets once a trade is made official. The saga is over.

Aaron Rodgers has chosen the NY Jets

While a trade has not been made official just yet, the Jets essentially have their quarterback now. That helps both in negotiations with prospective free agents and in trade talks with the Packers.

Rodgers coming out and publicly announcing his intentions gives the Jets some additional leverage in trade negotiations.

The longtime Packers quarterback also refuted the report suggesting he gave the Jets a wishlist of players to sign. It seems as though that report may have been a little exaggerated.

It's finally over, folks. A trade isn't official, but Rodgers' decision is. He wants the Jets, and the Jets want him.

Expect trade talks to ramp up with Rodgers now on the record.
