The 2010 season of HBO's "Hard Knocks" is widely regarded as perhaps the best season in the show's history. 13 years later, the NY Jets will return to the hit HBO show in search of their first postseason appearance since their last time on "Hard Knocks."
That season made legends out of a number of individuals in the Jets' organization. Rex Ryan's legacy and mainstream attention only grew with every colorful soundbite the NFL Films crew captured.
Antonio Cromartie's struggle to name his nine children is one of the show's lasting memories. Even players like Danny Woodhead and John Conner will forever be remembered as cornerstones of that "Hard Knocks" season.
With the Jets officially returning to "Hard Knocks" this summer, who might follow in their footsteps? Let's take a look at five Jets that could steal the show on "Hard Knocks."
5. Michael Carter, RB, NY Jets
Michael Carter has one of the most engaging and entertaining personalities on the entire Jets' roster. We've seen it in spurts already, but one can only imagine how he might shine under the bright lights of "Hard Knocks."
Whether Carter is serenading Jermaine Johnson in the locker room or hyping up his "twin" Michael Carter II on the sideline, the third-year running back always seems to steal the show.
During a livestream earlier this year, Jets running back Breece Hall listed Carter as one of the funniest players on the team. It's likely that Hall isn't the only one who shares this opinion.
Soon enough, the entire football world will have an opportunity to witness Carter's antics on "Hard Knocks." Don't be surprised if he steals the show once again.
4. Ron Middleton, TEs coach, NY Jets
Yes, Ron Middleton isn't a player, but he still belongs on this list. While the likes of head coach Robert Saleh, offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, and others will garner plenty of headlines, Middleton might be the true breakout star from the show.
Jets fans should already be pretty familiar with Middleton. The team rallied around him when he was thrust into a temporary head coaching position after Robert Saleh tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of Week 16 in 2021.
Middleton also served as the head coach for the National Team at the 2022 Senior Bowl. He's someone who has not only maximized his opportunities from a professional standpoint but he's also maximized his minutes in front of the camera.
The biggest star of Hard Knocks this summer is going to be #Jets TE coach Ron Middleton and I can’t freaking wait!

Players and fans alike can't help but be drawn to Middleton's infectious energy. He's an early dark horse to steal the show this summer.
3. C.J. Uzomah, TE, NY Jets
Speaking of tight ends, C.J. Uzomah absolutely deserves a shoutout as well. You can't talk about colorful personalities in the Jets' locker room without mentioning Uzomah's name.
The former Cincinnati Bengals tight end thrives in front of a camera. Anyone who keeps up with the Jets' social media channels has undoubtedly seen countless instances of Uzomah's compelling charisma shine through when given a live microphone.
Uzomah has already broken into the mainstream a little this offseason, traveling with Aaron Rodgers to the Tony Awards last month. In fact, Uzomah co-produced the Jordan E. Cooper comedy on Broadway, Ain't No Mo'. He dabbles in the performing arts.
While he may not be the most notable player on the team, Uzomah's personality and charm should be enough to win many fans over. He's going to steal some scenes.
2. Micheal Clemons, DE, NY Jets
Micheal Clemons is on this list for a very different reason. Unlike most of the other boisterous, bombastic personalities on this list, Clemons steals the show in other ways.
His quiet, intimidating demeanor has cultivated a cult following amongst Jets fans. Clemons has a stoic demeanor to him that's made even more terrifying when his bellowing voice is heard.
He's a man of few words, which typically wouldn't serve well on a show like "Hard Knocks," but there's just something about him that makes him one of the most fascinating players on the Jets' roster.
I'm not sure there's a player on the Jets I'm looking forward to seeing on "Hard Knocks" more than Micheal Clemons. Soon the entire NFL world will be introduced to the most captivating individual on the Jets' roster.
1. Aaron Rodgers, QB, NY Jets
Sometimes the obvious answer is also the correct one. The Jets were selected to appear on "Hard Knocks" this year primarily because of Aaron Rodgers. He's the sell. He's the ratings draw.
Rodgers has long been one of the most headline-garnering, noteworthy players in the NFL — for better or worse. His antics in recent years have only served to further that notion.
Rodgers might hate the media attention, but he's not going to be able to escape it this summer. There will be cameras and microphones in his face at all times, hoping to catch an elusive, headline-worthy soundbite.
Aaron Rodgers is going to be the star of the show this summer, whether he likes it or not. Fans will tune in to see the future Hall of Famer interact with his new environment. It promises to be must-see television.
