The NY Jets made their first major move of the offseason on Wednesday, acquiring a new starting right tackle in Morgan Moses. The Moses trade put an end to what had been a quiet and lackluster few days for the organization.

But just because the Jets haven't been super active in the high-end free-agent market to this point doesn't mean they won't be. With plenty of financial flexibility, the Jets absolutely have the assets to make a splash or two in free agency if they want to.

The good news for the Jets is that there are still quite a few high-profile names remaining on the open market. While some of the top free agents have already signed with new teams, there are still a few intriguing options available.

These might not all be the most likely Jets target, but each of these five players would represent a high-profile free-agent addition at a position of need.

5. The NY Jets could sign S Kamren Curl

The Jets parted ways with starting safety Jordan Whitehead this offseason, as the Pittsburgh product re-signed with his former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on Wednesday.

While the Jets did bring back Chuck Clark, there are doubts about Ashtyn Davis returning, and it might make sense to add to their safety room. The biggest defensive splash the Jets can make at this point is probably Kamren Curl.

Seen by many as the top safety on the market this offseason, Curl turned just 25 years old this month and has developed into one of the best young safeties in the NFL over the last four seasons with the Washington Commanders.

Curl is a versatile and talented safety who would essentially complete the Jets' defense going into the 2024 season. Unfortunately, he likely won't come cheap, and general manager Joe Douglas hasn't shown a tendency to spend big at this position. I wouldn't count on this happening.

4. The NY Jets could sign OG Kevin Zeitler

The Jets have already added 40 percent of the Baltimore Ravens' starting offensive line from last season in John Simpson and Morgan Moses. Why not shoot for a clean 60 percent with the addition of Kevin Zeitler?

Zeitler is the last remaining high-end interior offensive line option left on the open market. Even at 34 years old, Zeitler remains one of the better guards in the NFL.

The 2023 Pro Bowler hasn't allowed more than two sacks in a season since 2019 and has played 15+ games in each of the last nine seasons. He is everything the Jets need in an offensive lineman and more.

The only issue now is that signing Zeitler would likely force the Jets to move Alijah Vera-Tucker to left tackle. That might not be something they're willing to do, but Zeitler's talented enough to warrant consideration.

3. The NY Jets could sign WR Marquise Brown

Calvin Ridley reset the wide receiver market on Wednesday when he signed a four-year, $92 million contract with the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday. The Jets were never going to pay anywhere near that much for any player this offseason, but they're expected to be active in the wide receiver market.

Perhaps if the price is right they could make a run at Marquise Brown. The speedy wideout is coming off a disappointing 2023 campaign, but he's just two years removed from a 1,000-yard season with the Baltimore Ravens in 2021.

Brown isn't a No. 1 option, and he likely isn't going to be worth what he receives on the open market. But for a team like the Jets desperate for wide receiver help, perhaps this is a player they explore.

There are better, cheaper options available in free agency, but Brown is now one of the most high-profile wide receivers left unsigned. He would be an extremely notable signing for the Jets.

2. The NY Jets could sign WR Mike Williams

Mike Williams should be the Jets' new top wide receiver target in free agency. The former first-round pick was officially released by the Los Angeles Chargers on Wednesday, and he immediately becomes arguably the best wide receiver on the market.

Williams has run into injury concerns in recent seasons, most notably playing just three games in 2023 before tearing his ACL. He's also battled a nagging back injury throughout his career, but he still managed to appear in 15+ games in every season between 2018 and 2021. He also played 13 games in 2022.

The injury concerns with Williams are fair, but there's no denying how effective he's been when healthy. The Clemson product has a pair of 1,000-yard seasons under his belt and would be a perfect complement to Garrett Wilson as an X receiver in the Jets' offense.

It's unclear what Williams' market will be, and perhaps he'll end up out of the Jets' price range. Nonetheless, the Jets aren't going to find a better wide receiver target in free agency this offseason.

1. The NY Jets could sign OT Tyron Smith

The Jets have already made moves to bolster their offensive line this offseason, adding the likes of Morgan Moses and John Simpson to the unit. All that's left at this point is for the Jets to find their new starting left tackle.

There's plenty of smoke surrounding a possible David Bakhtiari signing, and many still expect the Jets to address the position in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. But what if the team went in a different direction?

Future Hall of Fame left tackle Tyron Smith remains a free agent as we enter the unofficial fourth day of free agency, and there's a chance the Jets could explore his market if the price is reasonable.

Smith does come with serious injury concerns, having not played more than 13 games in a season since 2015. When healthy, however, Smith is still one of the best left tackles in the NFL — as evidenced by his second-team All-Pro nod in 2023.

If the Jets really want to swing big to solidify their offensive line as a possible position of strength in 2024, signing Smith might be the way to go.
