In the Titans vs Jets game, Gang Green is riding some incredible momentum and must leave this game victorious to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The final two playoff spots will come down to the final four games, starting this weekend.  The Steelers, Chiefs and the Jets are in a three-way tie for the final three spots, and the Chiefs and Jets have the tiebreaker with 6-2 and 5-4 conference records, respectively.

This should be a “cakewalk” for the Jets this weekend, but some teams tend to have a let down in games like this.  According to New York Newsday’s Bob Glauber, Todd Bowles got a text warning from Bill Parcells after the Giants game on Sunday.

Bowles heeded the warning of Parcells.  According to Glauber, the Jets practiced in pads on Wednesday, a rarity of a Wednesday.  The players got the hint from Bowles.

“We’re not a good enough team to overlook anybody,” quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick said. “We’ve got to treat everyone like it’s the playoffs, we’re in the playoffs right now trying to win each week. I don’t think you’ll see, hear or feel that out of our team at all.”

While what Fitzpatrick said is typical, he’s right.  As the  3-9 Titans come into town, the Jets can’t let their guards down after that emotional win against the Giants.

There are two reasons.  The first being that they can’t allow Pittsburgh to gain control of their own destiny with a win in Cincinnati coupled with a Jets loss.  Secondly, albeit a long-shot, they still can win the AFC East.

Titans’ quarterback Marcus Mariota has had enough wow moments and games for teams to take notice, and the Jets have yet to play a quarterback with his skill-set. According to NFL.com, Darrelle Revis returned to practice on Thursday, which means he is one step close to seeing game action.  Revis’s presence would be huge because of his cover skills. It would free up someone to be able to spy on Mariota to prevent big runs.

The Jets just need to beat a very beatable Titans team this week to maintain their playoff spot.  The Jets are in control of their own destiny right now.  If they win, they’re in.  As Al Davis’s mantra states, “Just win, baby!”
