The NY Jets had a do or die match-up against the Miami Dolphins and finally showed some fight to keep their playoff hopes alive.
The Jets knew heading into their Week 12 match-up against the Dolphins that this was a turning point for them this season. A loss here would have ended their hopes of making it to the NFL Playoffs while a win would help keep them in the Wild Card race. Needless to say, the Jets took care of business against the Dolphins to the tune of 38-20.
What especially stood out the most about the Jets is the fact that they stepped up to deliver when they absolutely needed to. The Dolphins were playing much better football than when these two teams faced each other earlier in the season but the Jets went back to the fundamentals of football.
With a commitment to the ground game, an incredible defensive effort and a solidly executed offensive game plan led by Ryan Fitzpatrick, the Jets proved that they could indeed rise to the occasion to hopefully earn a Wild Card berth when all is said and done.
They’re not perfect, but if the Jets can ride this momentum all throughout the month of December, they could be quite the scary team come the postseason if everything falls into place. Thanks to the Media Relations Department of the Jets, here is what head coach Todd Bowles had to say about his team’s identity:
We’re a tough-minded team. We’re going to show up and fight. We just have to clean up the little things. I thought we played better situation and complimentary football today.
Overall, it’s great to see that the Jets bounced back and are back into the mix of things. It’s games like these that are pivotal at this point of the season since anything can happen from here on out.
