NY Jets: Injury update on Darrelle Revis

Cornerback Darrelle Revis of the NY Jets has an uncertain status at this very moment heading into a huge match-up in Week 12 action against the Miami Dolphins.

The latest injury update concerning Revis doesn’t look good at all. At the current moment he’s dealing with the NFL’s concussion protocol and as of late hasn’t improved. He suffered the injury in the Jets latest 24-17 loss to the Houston Texans when he landed hard on his head/neck.

Revis wll more than likely miss this week’s game against the Dolphins which won’t bode well for the Jets’ chances to bounce back from two consecutive losses. The season is spiraling south and should Revis not suit up this week, will expose a glaring weakness on the defensive secondary of the Jets that the Dolphins will surely exploit.

Head coach Todd Bowles in his latest press conference had this to say about Revis. This was sent to The Jet Press courtesy of the Media Relations Department of the Jets:

On injury updates for Darrelle Revis…

Revis is going through the concussion protocol, so obviously he has to go through some things and he wasn’t feeling any better today.

On if he is pessimistic that Revis will play this week…

Anytime somebody gets a concussion, you’re kind of pessimistic about them for the next week. Some people recover faster than others, so I’m just going to have to wait and see.

Next: All or nothing for Ryan Fitzpatrick this week

I don’t foresee the Jets risking further injury to Revis and regardless if he passes the NFL’s concussion protocol at some point this week, will more than likely sit him for their game against the Dolphins.
