Fans of the New York Jets are pretty crafty these days. During training camp of their AFC East rival New England Patriots, the NYJetsFans.com blog made sure to let them know what they truly thought about the team. It got national attention as fans of the Jets rejoiced to see the truth broadcasted to the masses while fans of the Super Bowl defending champions took to social media to chime their thoughts on Jets Nation. It wasn’t pretty but needless to say, the message was clearly delivered.

In an interview by Kristian Dyer of New York Metro, he was able to speak to one of the members of the site who was behind the banner. Here is what Jason Koeppel had to say about why the banner needed to be done:

"“The time has come for , Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft to start dealing with reality,” said Koeppel. ” Sports fans are not stupid. We have seen this act before from disgraced former superstar athletes. People like Lance Armstrong and Ryan Braun who challenged the system after they got caught red-handed. Ben Johnson, Marion Jones, A-Rod, Roger Clemens — the list of people who lied after they got caught cheating is sadly endless.” Tom Brady"

This isn’t the first time that a Jet fans website has pulled off an elaborate stunt such as this one. The site was also responsible for the “Fire John Idzik” billboard campaign in the New York-area. The campaign achieved great success as Idzik was eventually fired during the off-season.

Now with that under their belt, the site now moves on to their next mission, bringing back Fireman Ed. He’s been gone since 2012 after he was so fed up with the team back in 2012, he couldn’t take it anymore and called it quits. The site is now hoping he changes his mind and makes a triumphant return to lead the infamous J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS chants at MetLife Stadium this upcoming season.
