Tonight we look at a mock draft from an NFL analyst. Brian Baldinger is a guy many of us see during the season, covering games for FOX. We also will hear from him every so often on the NFL Network, in “Top Ten”, among other shows.

At the end of last week, Baldinger released his third and likely final mock draft before the big day. His choice is Todd Gurley from Georgia:

Gurley is the most talented player in the draft and has been medically cleared. That makes it easier for them to pass on Marcus Mariota. He’s a great fit and fills a need.

Todd Gurley is a terrific football player. We have looked Gurley’s stats before, but here they are again:

Rushing & Receiving

The most attractive part of Gurley is his ability in the passing game.  Neither Chris Ivory or Stevan Ridley are particular threats out of the backfield in the passing game, but Gurley is.  His 6.4 yards per carry average shows an ability to get to the outside and take the ball a long way.  Todd Gurley would be a good fit with the Jets.

I am not sure that Gurley is a number six draft pick, though.  Especially with Vic Beasley still on the board, Gurley might be a little bit high here.  But that would be a good fit.
