2015 NFL Draft: New York Jets Hosting the Pass Rushers

It sounds like Mike Maccagnan and company are doing their due diligence with regards to getting after the quarterback.
According to the NFL website, the Jets are bringing in all of the big candidates to fill the role. Bud Dupree is set to come in, according to Ian Rappaport. My favorite, Vic Beasley, is set to come in next week. Randy Gregory and Shane Ray are on the Jets list as well. Many of the mocks have Shane Ray going to the Jets, no doubt partly because of the connection with Sheldon Richardson.
Dante Fowler Jr. has met with the Jets already, and Eli Harold, projected in the second round of the draft, is on the Jets agenda as well. That’s six visits out of the allotted 30 going to pass rushers. In other words, the Jets are using 20% of their visits to look at guys who can get after the quarterback.
With less than two weeks to go before the draft, this is when we really focus on deciphering team strategy. Obviously, we are not involved in war room discussions, so we need circumstantial evidence to take our best guesses. If the Jets are going to use nearly one quarter of their visits on edge pass rushers, it is safe to say that they are giving that position some serious consideration.
Time will tell, very soon.
