2015 NFL Mock Draft: Todd Gurley to the New York Jets in Brian Baldinger Mock

Tonight we are going to take a look at a new mock draft. Specifically, we are taking a look at a mock draft written by one of the NFL analysts both on the network and the website, Brian Baldinger. We hear Baldinger’s take on a lot of NFL topics, but at least I haven’t heard him speak regarding the draft very often. When I noticed his mock was out yesterday, I went to take a look, and he chose:
Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia
Gurley is my No. 1 player in this draft. All other positions have been filled except for running back.
Take a look at Baldinger’s entire mock by clicking here.
Todd Gurley had a terrific career at Georgia. Take a look:
Rushing & Receiving
Gurley was injured in 2014, which limited him to only six games, although his average per carry was nearly 1.5 yards better than 2013 before his injury. Gurley is an explosive football player.
But, does he fill a need? Baldinger talks about the Jets addressing all positions but running back. He forgot about edge pass rusher. In this scenario, Vic Beasley makes a lot more sense. Even if they wanted to go offense, no lineman has been taken yet, and Amari Cooper is available in this mock.
Gurley doesn’t make much sense to me.
Am I wrong?
