Chris Johnson, formerly of 2,000 yard fame, was shot in the arm. He is expected to make a full recovery. According to sources, Johnson was involved in a drive-by. The driver of the car was fatally wounded. Johnson, however, suffered only the shoulder injury and is expected to be fine. No arrests have been made at the time of this post.
Chris Johnson spent one season in the Green and White after spending six seasons with the Tennessee Titans. After a disappointing 2014 season for Johnson, the Jets did not pick up his option for 2015, making him a free agent when the signing period opens on Tuesday afternoon.
You know how I feel about these situations by now. They are far too frequent in the NFL. Too many times, off the field headlines are taking the lead, putting on the field accomplishments on the back burner. It’s a shame to hear another one, especially about a former one of our own in Chris Johnson.
On the football side, this will likely hurt Johnson’s chances of getting signed, but it is good to hear that he will be fine.
