And the New York Jets have made their first major move of the offseason. If he passes a physical, Mike Maccagnan has brought in the type of receiver the Jets haven’t possessed in ages.
Adam Schefter has reported that the Jets have agreed to a trade that brings Brandon Marshall to the Jets. In return the Jets are sending a fifth round pick to the Bears. Published reports indicated that all the Bears were looking for in return for Marshall was a mid-round pick.

Marshall will turn 31 next month, but hasn’t show much in terms of slowing down. Prior to being injured last season, Marshall posted seven straight 1,000 yard seasons, with double-digit touchdowns in three of those seasons. Marshall clearly has football left.
Two items become in question, health and off the field. His health needs to be good for him to have the needed impact, obviously. This also marks the third time Marshall has been dealt in the last five years, which makes you have a little bit of pause. What do these other teams know, causing them to send him packing?
For now, however, Mike Maccagnan has to be commended for taking the chance and bringing in an impact player of Brandon Marshall’s caliber.
