It seems like there may have been a development in the building of Todd Bowles’ coaching staff. Take a look at this tweet from NFL Insider Jason La Canfora:
Jets finalizing Cardinals LB coach Mike Caldwell as an assistant head coach. Sounds like Chan Gailey might not be a slam dunk as their OC

So, Chan Gailey might not be coming here to run the Jets offense after all. He has gotten mixed reactions from the Jets fan base. Gailey’s offenses haven’t been great through the years, but he has had some success with mediocre quarterbacks, such as Ryan Fitzpatrick, while he was coaching the Bills.
Gailey has also been out of football since 2012, so he may not be a bit behind the times. Many think that Geno Smith will have a chance to shine in Gailey’s spread offense, but I, for one, will not lose any sleep if Gailey is not the guy.
We shall see how it shakes out.
