The Jets may not be able to hire this guy right away, but according to a report earlier today, they have their man in their sights.

Alex Marvez, senior NFL reporter for FOXSports, indicated that the Jets plan to hire Dan Quinn as their next head coach. According to the report on “The Jets Blog”, Marvez was on the “Dan Patrick Show” earlier today, and indicated as much from his sources. Marvez also indicated that Quinn is already reaching out to potential assistant coaches to form a staff here in New York. By rule, Quinn can formally accept a new job once the season ends for the Seahawks.

The Jets are indicating that the search is still going, but again, they cannot announce Quinn as the coach until the season ends for the Seattle Seahawks. Quinn is a favorite among the fan base, so if this is true, Woody Johnson and company will be applauded for making the best move possible.

I will get behind any move they make, but to me, the Jets need an offensive minded coach. Besides anything else, Richard Sherman and company would not be joining Quinn to fix the secondary. But we shall see what happens. Quinn must be in high demand for a reason.
