Report: The New York Jets Black Monday Firings Extend to Assistant Coaches

According to Kristian Dyer of Metro New York on Black Monday the Jets will not only fire John Idzik and Rex Ryan but also the assistant coaches as well. While it is sad to lose a great assistant like Karl Dunbar, defensive line coach, it is much easier to see underperforming assistants and coordinators go like Sanjay Lal, Dennis Thurman and Thomas McGaughey.

This is unofficial but a Twitter post by Dunbar seems to lend credence to Dyer’s tweet. Dunbar tweeted, “Thx to the JETS NATION! Once a JET ALWAYS A JET! I love you guys!”. Dunbar’s Twitter is private so the tweet could not be shown here.
