Rex Ryan received that all too familiar call from the league, instructing him to open his checkbook. Coach Ryan was fined $100,000 for his on tape profanity after last week’s game against the Steelers. If you recall, Ryan was caught yelling “f you” at someone off the screen, presumably a referee or an opponent.
This is not the first time for coach Ryan, as he has been fined $50,000 and $75,000 for events of this nature in the past. The third time was, well not a “charm”, but the straw that sent the camel up to six figures.
I understand it. They want to legislate this to try and keep the game kid-friendly, but the truth is that it happens all the time. If Roger Goodell honestly believes he can take swearing out of NFL football, he might actually be delusional. The trouble is for Ryan, he always seems to get caught. There is always a camera around when it happens to him.
