We all saw that Calvin Pryor was benched for yesterday’s game against the Steelers, not playing a single defensive snap. He played in 13 snaps overall, and they were all special teams. Now we may know why.

According to Rich Cimini, Calvin Pryor has missed meetings throughout the season, and it came to a head yesterday with his benching in favor of Jaiquawn Jarrett.
Granted, we do not know the voracity of these statements. Rich did not place them in an article, it was a tweet from “sources”. They may be correct about Pryor, they may not. Sometimes, character issues are leaked to give more ammunition to a coach’s decision. If true, it doesn’t bode well for Pryor, amounting to a bad character choice by John Idzik with his first round pick.
Benching Pryor did become the correct decision, as Jaiquawn Jarrett performed admirably, with two interceptions, one sack and a fumble recovery.
Jarrett certainly gave reason for the Jets to leave Pryor on the bench. Now, we may know why it happened in the first place.
