Rex Ryan announced just a few minutes ago that Michael Vick will remain the starting quarterback for the New York Jets.

As long as he’s healthy, we’ll go with Mike.

More from Jets News

There is no real surprise here. There were rumors earlier in the day that the Jets were going to consider going back to Geno Smith next week against Pittsburgh, but that is not to be. Michael Vick will start next week, as long as he is healthy. Vick did leave the game for a series with an apparent head injury. It seemed that he was taken to the locker room for the concussion protocol testing, which he passed, and was able to come back.

Although the Jets did put up only 10 points, Vick did post a rating of over 100. He didn’t turn the ball over, which is already a step up. They are never going to give Matt Simms a long look, so unless he can’t go, we should see Michael Vick for the rest of the season, not just next week.
