The official word is out, Dee Milliner is gone for the year.
The team has announced that Milliner does, in fact, have a torn Achilles, and will miss the rest of the 2014 season. He has been placed on season ending injured reserve, and is likely to miss 6-9 months, which on the high-end would include the beginning of training camp.

There is no official word on Brian Winters as of yet.
In his spot, the Jets have announced the signing of cornerback Josh Thomas. He was drafted by the Cowboys, spent 2011-2013 with the Panthers, recording one interception. He was most recently on the roster of the Seahawks, active for three games.
The questions will continue to mount regarding the durability of Dee Milliner, a talented player that has only been able to start 14 of games out of what will amount to 32 games in the league at the end of the season. The value of Milliner as a draft choice will face some serious doubt.
Thomas is an interesting choice with options available such as Champ Bailey, but that is for another discussion.
