Some good news to come out on the injury front this afternoon.

According to head coach Rex Ryan, rookie WR/KR Jalen Saunders is expected to be cleared for practice as early as tomorrow, and should play “a lot” against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night.

This is good news, as Saunders is expected to be a weapon both in the receiving and the kick return game. From seeing him in person, his speed is evident. During my stint in Cortland, Saunders ran back kicks as well as being used on offense for speed plays like reverses. He is a talented player.

And his medical situation was mysterious, and as Craig Hoffman pointed out, could have been quite dangerous. To see that he is ready to continue his football career this quickly is great news for Saunders, and for the Jets organization as well.

It will be exciting to see Jalen Saunders get some extended game action against the Eagles, as the fans can finally get the chance to see what he can do.
