With the upcoming game on Thursday night, it was primarily a walk through at Jets camp today. Here are some brief observations from camp:
JACE AMARO LOOKS BETTER: Observers felt that Amaro looked crisp out there today. It is just one day, but things have to start somewhere. It will be exciting to see Amaro cut loose on Thursday night.
BILAL POWELL BACK IN ACTION, CALVIN PRYOR NOT EXPECTED TO PLAY: Bilal Powell was back in action today, taking part in positional drills as well as 7 on 7’s. That is great news coming out of camp.
The other piece is on Calvin Pryor. Per Rex, as expected, Pryor is not expected to play on Thursday night. Tough break for the first rounder as he recovers from his concussion.
SHAQ EVANS TO IR?: Evans has sustained a pretty bad shoulder injury up at camp, and Rex Ryan advised today that he might be headed to IR. Tough break for a young man looking to make this team as a rookie.
And finally, the starters will play the entire first quarter on Thursday, and into the second, possibly.
