Wanted to give you guys a quick injury update from this morning’s workout at Cortland with the Jets.
Bilal Powell is still not practicing, working in the rehab area of the field without pads on. Earlier in camp, Bilal tweaked his hamstring, and he isn’t ready to be hit as of yet. The good news, as per our good buddy Chris Lopresti of WFAN, is that Bilal’s injury is still not considered serious. He has done work in the rehab area, and there is no talk of him going for more testing.
The Jets need all hands on deck for their running game to work at peak effectiveness, and Bilal will be a big part of that.
The other news is that although Calvin Pryor is still out there, he is still in the red jersey, indicating no contact. He suffered a concussion earlier in camp, and obviously has to go through NFL protocols to be cleared to play. This is just indicative of the fact that Calvin has not been cleared for contact as of now.
