In a bit of slightly troubling news to Jets fans, our sophomore and #1 cornerback sat out of organized team activities today. As reported by Kieran Darcy of ESPN New York on twitter earlier today the second year 1st round pick missed practice with hamstring tightness. Brian Costello followed up on twitter by reporting that it was a precautionary move. Apparently Dee felt tightness in his hamstring since Monday according to Costello.

Here are the tweets

While not immediately alarming, the lack of depth and all the questions looming over the secondary unit does lead to some cause for concern. Hamstring injuries in the NFL can be a tricky thing and they do have a tendency to linger. For Dee going into his second year missing any practice time is not ideal, especially considering the many new faces that will be accompanying him on the back end of the defense.

In the meantime there are many camp bodies at the cornerback position and they will have an opportunity to step up and earn roster spots in Milliners absence. Some names to keep an eye on include Ras-I Dowling and Jeremy Reeves. Reeves looks to be a steal as a free agent signing who sat out last season recovering from surgery and Rex seems to be very high on him.
