Cody Latimer – WR – Indiana Hoosiers

-Height 6’2″

-Weight: 215 lbs

  • Has decent size for a wide receiver; height and ability to jump high helps with 50-50 balls
  • Has reliable hands; can catch tough passes
  • Can make room to tough poorly thrown balls; footwork helps get a step-up on the defensive backs which helps with poorly thrown balls
  • Is a consistent route-runner; can break away from defenders in short distances
  • Is a solid blocker; one of – if not the best – blocking wide receivers in the draft

  • Limited speed; does not have the acceleration to get past defenders
  • Has some trouble adjusting his game on defensive audibles
  • Underwent foot surgery in February, which held him out of some drills at the combine

Cody Latimer has skyrocketed up the draft boards in the last couple of months. A tall, lengthy wide receiver from Indiana, Latimer has the ability to be a top wide receiver in the draft – and may find himself being drafted in the first round. He has reliable hands that could catch in traffic and poorly thrown balls from his quarterback. He is a fluid route-runner with quick feet, which helps separate from the opposing defenders, but downfield his speed is limited. Latimer is one of the best blocking wide receivers in this draft, trying to make an impact on plays that aren’t directed towards him. He could be very useful in an offense – and if he falls to the second round – the Jets may end up with a great pick.

Projection: Second Round Pick
