Austin Seferian-Jenkins – TE – Washington Huskies

-Height: 6’6”

-Weight: 276 lbs

  • Is built perfectly for a tight end
  • Great athleticism for his size
  • Reliable receiver that can catch tough passes and break tackles
  • A solid blocker who can stop the blitz

  • Is coming off a DUI; questions arising about his maturity
  • Doesn’t have great awareness
  • Is not a fast tight end; has fluidity problems at times
    • Isn’t a deep threat, only short distances
    • Had surgery in late 2013; also underwent surgery on foot, forcing him to miss combine

The New York Jets are in need of a tight end and while Eric Ebron will likely be selected before their pick in the first round, Austin Seferian-Jenkins will likely be available come the team’s second round pick. Built like Rob Gronkowski, Seferian-Jenkins has the perfect built for a tight end with less fluidity and speed. He has a high ceiling and even potential to be a top tight end in the NFL. He also is a great blocker – with some minor flaws – which is pretty rare for a tight end that dominates in the passing game. However, the young tight end has been questioned about his maturity and health issues, after he was given a DUI as well as two surgeries in the last year. However, his potential is too high for teams to pass on him in the second round, especially a Jet team who could use another receiver / blocker to bolster their offense.

Projection: Second Round Pick
