Not good news, my fellow Jets’ fans. Not good at all.
Tonight, word has come out that Alterraun Verner, cornerback that the Jets have coveted to replace Antonio Cromartie, has signed with the Tampa Bay Bucs. Reportedly the deal is for four years, $26.5 million.
In a surprising move, just a few minutes after the Verner signing surfaced, we heard about Jairus Byrd. Byrd signed a six-year deal to join the New Orleans Saints. Many out there were surprised, as the Saints cap situation is not the best, but they figured it out.
According to Manish Mehta, the Jets were nowhere near the financial offer of the Bucs. Could this mean that the Jets are going to make a serious run at bringing Darrelle Revis back? Personally, I won’t be happy with the idea, but it seems like it is becoming more and more possible.
