In addition to the moves that were announced earlier, the Jets have announced Rex Ryan’s staff for 2014. Well, they almost have.

One position is still open, that of special teams coordinator. No replacement has been announced for Ben Kotwica, who has gone to fill that role in Washington. The other change is Bobby April III, taking over LB duties for Brian VanGorder.

Here is the staff, courtesy of the Jets:

Offensive Coordinator — Marty Mornhinweg

Defensive Coordinator — Dennis Thurman

Assistant Head Coach/Running Backs — Anthony Lynn

Assistant Special Teams — Louie Aguiar

Linebackers — Bobby April III

Offensive Line — Mike Devlin

Defensive Line — Karl Dunbar

Head Strength & Conditioning — Justus Galac

Tight Ends — Steve Hagen

Assistant Offensive Line — Ron Heller

Wide Receivers — Sanjay Lal

Quarterbacks — David Lee

Defensive Backs — Tim McDonald

Assistant Strength & Conditioning — Pierre Ngo

Assistant Strength & Conditioning — Paul Ricci

Assistant Defensive Backs — Brian Smith

Assistant Defensive Line/Linebackers — Jeff Weeks

As far as reaction?  I love the idea of keeping the continuity.  If anyone thought Idzik could still be setting Rex up to fail, keeping his staff would clearly prove that wrong.

The only disappointment is the retention of Sanjay Lal, whom we all wanted out of town.  Oh, well.
