Who loves the New York Jets? Do you love your team and do you enjoy the Jet Press? How would you like to join our team, and bring news to our thousands of monthly readers? If you answered “yes”, to any of these questions, the Jet Press has a position for you.
We are looking for, depending upon availability, 2-3 writers, that can cover any breaking news during the regular weekday. What we are looking for is Monday-Friday, to be covered in four-hour shifts, 9 AM-1 PM, and 1 PM to 5 PM. The more you are available, the better.
What would we be asking of you? Well, watch the news wire, via Twitter, and any other way you can. If news comes out regarding the Jets, post it to our website. “BREAKING:…”. Posts would need to be at least 200 words in length, so they appear in Google news. The point is that we need people to cover the work day, and bring out any breaking news regarding our team. We would be looking for a minimum of one post per shift.
How do you apply? Send an email to aschechter@frontier.com. Include in that email what your availability is in relation to the shifts I discussed above. Tell me how often you are available during the week, and for which shifts. Also, send me some example of your writing ability. Give me something relating a piece of news about the Jets, whatever you like. It can be something that happened, or fictional. I just want to see how you write. Make it approximately 300 words and send it to me in the mail.
Send your application to me by 6 PM, on Saturday evening. I will look at what you have quickly as I want to get the newsdesk in place ASAP. Again, apply to aschechter@frontier.com. Good luck!
