Just a little bit of roster housekeeping as the Jets prepare for Monday night in Atlanta.
The team has officially placed Mike Goodson on the active roster. For anyone that didn’t realize, Mike is back after serving his suspension for the first four games of the 2013 season. We will see how much he plays, as the team evaluates his “football shape”, but he is officially on the roster. Michael Campbell has been activated from the practice squad as well.
To make room, Ryan Spadola and Ricky Sapp have been released. Sapp is no surprise, as at no point has he ever fulfilled the promise he has shown in the preseason. He shows pass rushing speed in August, but it never manifests during the regular season.
Ryan Spadola was a bit surprising. Though, his production did level off once the season began, and he hasn’t been seeing the field much. People do think that if he goes unclaimed, the Jets will bring him back to the practice squad.
The only question is, why not Clyde Gates? Why is he still here? We can only wonder.
