If true, it looks like the Mark Sanchez era in New York will officially come to an end.

Take a look at this tweet from Chris Mortensen from ESPN:

Jets QB Mark Sanchez is likely to have surgery after Dr. James Andrews confirmed he has a labral tear in right shoulder, per league sources

Here is what Brian Costello is reporting:

Sanchez could still end up having surgery, but no decision to have surgery has been made. He will continue rehabbing shoulder.

And then a few minutes later, one more tweet came from Chris Mortensen:

Sanchez expected to take day or two to decide; he still has an option to rehab the shoulder to see if he can play but surgery is more likely

So, it looks like he needs surgery, but nothing is official yet. None of this has been confirmed by the team.

If Mark is in fact moved to IR, we will give a eulogy to his time with the New York Jets.
