The Jets do have some concerns on the injury front as Sunday afternoon and the game against the Bucs approaches. We know that Mark Sanchez is having arm troubles, however serious they may be. It appears that Quinton Coples’ injury is going to keep him out of Sunday’s game as well.
However, one player that looks like he is healthy enough to return on Sunday is Dee Milliner. The young rookie is looking forward to his regular season debut:
I’m very excited, to be back out there on the field. First NFL, regular season game, so it will feel great to be out there. It’s going to be at home. The fans (will) come out there (and) hopefully we have a good game.
His leg is, at least according to Dee himself, ready to go:
I feel great. I’m back out on the field. I’m back doing everything 100 percent, so I feel good.
The Jets began breaking down the Tampa Bay offense yesterday when they came in, so Milliner knows they have to be “accountable” for each play that Tampa runs.
For what it’s worth, as much as Kyle Wilson is infuriating to watch play, he should be the starter this week. Dee showed while he was healthy that he isn’t ready to start. He got beat quite a bit, the only difference was that he didn’t engage in the finger wagging of Kyle Wilson.
Dee Milliner will get there, just not yet.
