Well the roster is down to 75, but not with a move that a lot of you were hoping for.

Just a few minutes ago, the Jets announced that they have released WR Braylon Edwards. He was coming back in an attempt to start his third stint as a member of the New York Jets.

He was a member of the Flight Boys in 2009/2010, and was a big part of the success of the 2 straight AFC title games. Braylon came back at the end of last season and added some receptions over the last 3 games, despite a nagging hamstring problem.

This was definitely coming. He was already on a “pitch count” and hadn’t practiced all week long before the Giants’ game. After Massaquoi was signed, the handwriting was on the wall that the team had lost faith in Edwards.

Remember, he still could be brought back after week 1, for the veteran minimum, and a non-guaranteed contract. The Jets could be waiting for that opportunity. We shall see.
