Here is some big news, no matter who becomes the quarterback.
The Jets have announced in the last hour that WR Santonio Holmes, who we once believed would stay on the PUP list for at least the first six weeks of the regular season, has been activated. He is off the PUP list, and can play whenever the doctors deem him ready to go.
This is big news for a skilled position group that we all know is lacking for depth. If Santonio is ready to go, add him to an improving Stephen Hill, an Jeremy Kerley that has stepped up big time, Clyde Gates if he can stay healthy, and even Ryan Spadola, and you have to say that the WR group is better than we all expected them to be.
We do know that whomever earns that starting job at quarterback, they will have a proven weapon available to them, sooner rather than later. That can only be good news for the Jets, and Jets’ fans alike.
