Just moments ago, the New York Jets announced their starting quarterback for the game against the Jaguars, and most fans will not like it.
Via their Twitter feed, they have announced that Mark Sanchez will start the game at quarterback on Saturday night at MetLife stadium.
Reading the day to day reports from camp these last couple of weeks, this really isn’t a surprise. Mark has been outperforming Geno daily, and for the last several days in a row. Mark has been more accurate, and more consistent. I know that it is just practice, but that is when you evaluate players, practice.
Let’s not forget that Geno Smith is a bit banged up with that ankle as well. Geno may not be well enough to play very much, when you hear Rex tell it. That may be hampering his play in practice, and the Jets don’t want to ruin their rookie QB before he gets out of the gate.
Be ready for the boo birds on Saturday night.
