Just a little while ago, coach Rex Ryan named the starter for Friday night’s game against the Detroit Lions. It is none other than fan “favorite” Mark Sanchez. Obviously, I am being sarcastic with the term in quotes. However, both he and Geno Smith will get time with the first team offense during the game. Rex even hinted that the first team might play longer than normal, simply to accommodate both quarterbacks.

Reaction? No big deal either way. People on Twitter, after the decision came out, were actually debating this. Think about it, we are not debating who is playing with the ones, and who the twos. We are debating who gets to play with the ones……first! As long as both guys get time with the starters, to keep the competition fair, that’s all that matters.

Don’t get bogged down in the preseason by who is getting the first drive, the second…etc. Both guys will get their chance to show what they can do, and it will be about the preseason games.

Can’t wait until Friday night.
