Finally, we have some good news to report about the team’s top draft pick.
First reported by our buddy Jake Steinberg, than other sources began rolling in, announcing that the Jets have come to terms on a contract with 9th overall pick, CB Dee Milliner from Alabama. He has been working out on his own while the team and his representatives worked out his rookie contract. Word is he will be in camp Monday.
The Jets needed him in camp quite badly, especially after the injury to Aaron Berry, losing him for the season. Terms of the contract were not disclosed at the time of this post, but we know that the salaries are pre-determined. Reports were that the dispute holding the contract up was over offset language.
That means the entire draft is signed, finally, and set to work out together in Cortland. The rookies need all the time they can get learning the system, so this news couldn’t come soon enough. Now the Jets can finally get rolling with a full squad.
