As we head to training camp, second year wide receiver Stephen Hill has quite enough to worry about with his own game. Namely, consistently catching the football is what he needs to be thinking about. However, that didn’t stop Stephen from doing an impression of his head coach. Here is what Hill had to say when asked about his team’s playoff chances:
“Oh yes, definitely,” Hill said. “We will be in the playoffs and deep in the playoffs.”
Overall, you have to like the spirit of this young man. We all know that basically, the Jets are rebuilding, and there aren’t very high expectations. You like to see that your guys think they are going to get it done against all odds.
However, sometimes, it is appropriate to keep things to yourself. We have seen coach Ryan insert his foot in his mouth (no joke intended there) by making outlandish statements. The team has endured a lot of ridicule, thanks to the coach’s statements. Whenever these types of statements come out of the land of the Jets, the team endures ridicule.
Come on guys. Stay positive internally. Stop the silly statements externally.
