You could argue that there aren’t a lot of people out there that have had Mark Sanchez’s back through the years, but one guy who did, during his short time with the Jets, was backup quarterback Erik Ainge.

Erik Ainge, in a report with our friend Kristian Dyer at Metro, talked about the wildness that is Mark Sanchez when it’s party time.  For example, there was a party in 2009 where Mark ended up streaking with his girlfriend through his condo, and when the clothes went down, someone raised a cel phone to take a picture.  Thankfully Ainge was there to smash the camera so the film could not remain recorded.  Mark paid for the damage, but the incident was still there.

Ainge ran in the same circles with Mark a lot, and talked about how things would go:

“There were numerous times when things would happen, when things would go down, articles of clothing would be removed,” Ainge told Metro. “Mark is goofy. He played truth or dare. He was kind of awkward around girls, so he needed other people around him to help him out. I was good at that — there were other guys who were good with that. So we’d help him out and talk him through his awkwardness. It happened to him with the 17-year old who said she wasn’t 17. Now the butt video and there’s been several other issues just like that, but he’s always had wingmen.”

Now, nobody is making a deal about this, he shouldn’t get disciplined or anything. I mean, compared to the Aaron Hernandez thing, this is nothing. This is a kid having fun who needs to be careful from letting it go too far.

Mark has to understand that as the quarterback in NY, he is under the microscope, and everything he does will be judged. Don’t be stupid.
