Just a little bit of housekeeping as the Jets close out the 2012 rookie minicamp. Coming out of today’s final day of the camp, John Idzik and company got some work done, signing four players that were in for tryouts, and releasing 3 UDFAs.
The signed tryout players are:
■ DT Lanier Coleman, Louisiana-Lafayette
■ K Brett Maher, Nebraska
■ WR Thomas Mayo, California (Pa.)
■ OLB Sean Progar-Jackson, Northern Illinois
The released players are:
■ K Derek Dimke, Illinois
■ DT Roosevelt Holliday, Eastern Illinois
■ WR Royce Pollard, Hawaii
See, competition is so important to Mr. Idzik, they even signed competition for Nick Folk. It’s good to see that a wide receiver was impressive enough to sign, as well as an outside linebacker.
Sorry to see Roosevelt Holliday get released, as we just profiled him within the last few days. Congratulations to the 4 players that were signed, and good luck going forward. The next step is OTAs, followed my minicamp.
And onward we go.
