Is John Idzik in the market for Mark Sanchez’s replacement? Or is it a tight end?

Word is that the Jets are trying to ensure they can get what they want. According to Sal Paolantonio, a Jets official has confirmed that the team is fielding calls, trying to move up in tonight’s draft session.

A couple of things here. It seems strange that a Jets official is going to confirm anything, much less draft strategy. John Idzik has kept a strong muzzle around any leaks about everything, I find it hard to believe that all of a sudden someone would confirm a report to Sal Pal.

Assuming that it is true, whom are the Jets targetting with the move? Is it Geno Smith? If they make that move, it clearly is a new era in Jets land, which is something the Jets need to thnk about. Maybe it is to ensure that Ryan Nassib is available, or Mike Glennon.

Maybe they are looking for a tight end. The Jets are reportedly high on Zach Ertz, the tight end out of Stanford. Who knows? We will find out soon enough.
