John Idzik was a busy little beaver tonight, wasn’t he?

After choosing Geno Smith with the 39th pick overall, and Brian Winters with the 72nd pick overall, he came through with the trade that we have all been expecting. The Jets have traded their 4th round pick tomorrow, the 106th overall, to the New Orleans Saints for running back Chris Ivory. Ivory will join a backfield with Mike Goodson, Bilal Powell, and Joe McKnight.

Even though they had to give up a draft pick to do it, this might be my favorite move of the entire draft so far. Ivory is a fan favorite, and for good reason. When he was given the chance to play in New Orleans, he was quite effective in space with a 5.1 yard per carry average.

His ability will lend itself well to the Jets offense. I will leave you with a tweet from former running back, Jamal Anderson:

Chris Ivory to the Jets could be a really nice move by the Jets. Ivory runs with bad intentions,. They will love that in NY

I think that says it all.
