New Jets corner Dee Milliner

After a long offseason for both the teams and the fans, the beginning of the 2013-2014 season is finally here. The time is here when the best of college football are making the next step in their career and entering the NFL. It is time for the NFL Draft. The New York Jets own the 9th pick in the draft and the pick has just been read by NFL commissioner Roger Goddell. The Jets have selected cornerback Dee Milliner from the University of Alabama. With the recent trade of Darrelle Revis to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it seems John Idzik wasted no time trying to find his replacement. At 6’0, 200 pounds Milliner possess incredible speed and ball skills that will translate well into the Jets defense. Milliner also led the FBS with 22 pass deflections last year. He also had 2 interceptions. Although Milliner is dealing with some minor injuries, I think this is an excellent pick for John Idzik and the New York Jets. After giving up arguably the best defender in Jets history, Milliner has some big shoes to fill. But if his time at Alabama proves anything, it shows that Milliner can match-up against some big time wide receivers. Add Milliner to a secondary of Cromartie and Kyle Wilson, and it turns into a strength for Gang Green.
