Bucky Brooks Mock Draft Version 6.0: The New York Jets Select……….

By Alan Schechter

Bucky Brooks’ latest version of his mock draft has a choice that will make the Jets’ fans very happy.

As we continue to make the rounds of Mock Drafts, we find our way back to Bucky Brooks. We have all see his work on and the NFL Network, he does an excellent job. Bucky has just released his 6th version of his mock draft. In the past, he has selected Chance Warmack for us, Barkevious Mingo, Jarvis Jones, and Ziggy Ansah. Who does he have for the Jets this time? Jets fans will be happy…………….

Rex Ryan needs an explosive pass rusher off the edge around whom he can build his aggressive blitz scheme. Though Jordan logged just 14.5 career sacks in his Oregon career, he displayed the speed and athleticism to wreak havoc on opponents as a designated pass rusher.

Take a look at his entire mock draft by clicking here.

Well, as I am sure you all feel, I certainly have no problem with the pick.  In many circles, Dion Jordan is regarded as the most complete player of the edge pass rushers.  Rex would be salivating to get a player like this on his defense.

I am just not sure how realistic Bucky’s scenario is, getting Dion to fall number 9.  He has only one front seven defensive player going before the Jets choose.

The more I consider this upcoming draft, the less realistic I see that happening.

For example, he has 5 offensive linemen going in the top 8, in addition to Geno Smith going number 2.  Could Geno go number 2?  Sure.  But I don’t see all of those linemen getting snatched up that quickly.

I love the scenario from a New York Jets’ standpoint.  I just don’t see it happening based on what the team’s in front of the Jets are doing.  It doesn’t seem realistic to me.

We can hope, though.
