In the spirit of Mock Draft season, we have another one to evaluate this morning.

Matt Smith is an analyst for the NFL Network. As such, he, along with most other experts out there have been working their Mock Drafts as we all know. Who is going to go when? Everybody is having there say.

As I have mentioned in evaluating previous mocks, as the draft gets closer, you start to see a unity amongst them, as far as what teams are going to pick which players and when. I chose this mock by Matt Smith because it was the first one I have found that has the Jets taking this guy. In this draft, the New York Jets select………….

He’s a splash player. He’s an impact player. And while there’s not a lot of tape on him, not a lot of production, you simply can’t ignore what an athletic specimen Ansah is, and how easily he makes his way into the backfield. Rex Ryan will be giddy with the selection; the fans in N.Y. will boo the heck out of it.

We have taken a look at this young man not too long ago, take a look by clicking here.

For me, this is a player that is a bit more “raw” than other pass rushers available in the draft.  However, in THIS mock scenario, Ansah is a great pick.  As I have said before, I am a huge fan of Dion Jordan and Jarvis Jones.  In this scenario, these two guys are not available to the Jets at #9.  Barkevious Mingo is still available, and a good argument can be made for him at #9 over Ansah, due to his greater production over a longer period of time.

But, bottom line?  If the draft were to play out like this, the Jets would be just fine.  There are many worse scenarios than shown here.
