Whether Darrelle Revis ends up on the Jets come training camp or not, he was just made a bit richer by the New York Jets.

As of 4 PM this afternoon, Darrelle Revis collected a roster bonus of $1 million from the team, that is ironically attempting to trade him. Revis also has a workout bonus coming in June, and a bonus for reporting to training camp in July. That is, of course, should Darrelle be on the team when these dates arrive.

This is, and continues to be, a very interesting situation. Clearly, trading Darrelle is an option that is on the table. The rumors are mixed, some say good offers are out there, some say the price is not right yet. If the Jets were “desperate” to make a move, they would have made one before the bonus kicked in, the way the Colts moved Peyton Manning before he received his bonus.

Will they make a move sooner rather than later? It’s hard to say. One thing is obvious. This situation is going to get worse before it gets better.
