The 2013 NFL Scouting Combine is in the books, ladies and gentlemen. The process is far from over, as these players have their various pro days before we hit the NFL draft in April. However, there were a couple of prospects that have been linked with the New York Jets, that stood out and performed pretty well this weekend. Here are the ones that stood out for me:
DION JORDAN: Here is a guy that has been associated with the Jets in a lot of mock drafts, and he did quite well over the weekend. He showed us the ability to run like a deer with a 4.6 second forty yard dash. In pure speed, he will fly off the edge of the defensive line. He also showed some lower body explosiveness, giving us a near top of the list broad jump, posting 122 inches. His movements were fluid, his footwork was good, and he did all of this with surgery coming up to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder. This is a talented, tough kid that I want in New York.
DEE MILLINER: The Jets may need to consider depth at defensive back, and Milliner looked terrific. His 4.37 40 yard dash is about as quick as you are going to see. He also posted a broad jump of over 10 feet, showing some lower body explosiveness. This was another guy as smooth on his feet as you can get, and would be worthy of a Green and White jersey.
CHANCE WARMACK: I am still not in favor of a guard with the number 9 choice, but just the “eye” test shows why he is so highly regarded. Watching him in on-filed drills is a sight to see. Watching him do the drill where he would cross with another lineman to simulate “pulling” was beautiful. Throughout the entire day, his footwork is perfect. If the Jets do go ahead and choose him, he will be a staple on the line for many, many years.
So who did you guys like?
