Could this be the last picture seen of Darrelle Revis in a New York Jets uniform? If you ask Jason LaCanfora, the answer would be “possibly”.

LaCanfora is reporting tonight that the Jets are going to “explore” the possibility of trading Darrelle Revis. Revis, as we all know, is coming off of season ending knee surgery, and in the midst of rehab.

This would certainly be a gutsy move to begin John Idzik’s career as the Jets general manager. Darrelle Revis is beloved by the fanbase, and is the best cornerback in football. There certainly would be some harsh reaction from throughout this fanbase if he were gone. We all would certainly hate to watch him run back a pick six against us, that’s for sure.

But there are reasons that exploring the trade is valid, keeping in mind that the idea is building the team to win long term, not just for one year. They really have to at least consider it.

Tomorrow morning, we will talk more about why.
