Today, we take a look at a guy that the Jets have visited with, and is massive. He could be an asset on the offensive line. Spotlight on Brandon Brooks, OL from University of Miami (Ohio).

For a scouting report, take a look at our friends at withthefirstpick.com

Pros: He is massive at 6’5″ 346 pounds, and can play either tackle or guard.  He is versatile, would fit anywhere on the offensive line.  He plays with a good anchor, holds his ground at the point of attack.  He has the strength to be an absolute mauler in the running game.

Cons: Is a bit of a grabber, which attracts a lot of holding penalties.  He doesn’t always “explode” off the snap.  He also sometimes plays a bit sluggishly with his extra weight, as he has added over 60 pounds since enrolling at Miami of OH.

Some talk of him moving into discussion for the second round, which I think would be a bit high for the Jets. But lower? I think he could be a nice value later on in the draft, somewhere in Saturday’s rounds.
